Valentine's Day & my 34th Birthday!

I had a tough time processing this year's political climate filled with racism, deportations, & blatant disrespect of civil rights. However, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, & the Philadelphia Eagles have reinvigorated my faith in creating & maintaining community amongst my people. I've seen Beyoncé bowl 20 times by now & the Eagles continuously impressed me with the amount of bullying they did in the field on my birthday. Kendrick's diabolical level of pettiness towards Wheelchair Jimmy is something I deeply respect & admire. Black people are continuously doubted for their right to exist & yet here are 3 examples of how we use our talents to better connect & improve the community around us.

There is such great motivation in the air this week, especially with Valentine's Day with my kids as my Valentines & the Eagles parade, which had shutdown the city for the day. I do not enjoy crowds, so I enjoyed seeing the sea of green online. It's charming to see all the energy in the city for our team & each other. Especially after the pandemic, it's reassuring to see people enjoying their community on a large scale. Music, dancing, chanting, laughter, & smiles through the city streets. I've lived here for 7 years & the Eagles have won 2 out of 3 Superbowls in that time. It's an invigorating excitement living in Philly for me personally. I've never felt more at home now.

I spent Valentine's Day watching Love Is Blind season 8 & it has been romantic, enjoyable, & funny. Hopefully, at least one of these couples had a successful relationship together, otherwise, Netflix has to at least fire the Lacheys. I think the most recent cast has been doing a lot of the heavy lifting of the show's reputation & I think it's circling back around to being a show based on sincerity. My birthday was filled with cookies, a pile of bacon, weed, & kindness. I deeply appreciate having a simple easy day with people who show me affection. I've already read 3 books this year so far & I plan on reading several more. I'm still learning shqip because I love the sound of it & learning something challenging. And I've been working out every morning at dawn, keeping my mobility & strength, listening to music, & dancing.
